Marriage

In many religions, marriage is a huge commitment that must be done after much consideration. I believe that marriage has three requirements. First, both people should be totally in love with each other. Second, it must be a life long commitment. Third, they must be as compatible as possible.

Without love, marriage has no point. Marriage is supposed to show one's utmost love for their partner. I would hope that everyone who gets married is in love with their partner, and are not doing it for money or personal reasons. Love is the most important part of a marriage.

One problem with marriage today is that many marriages end because of differences, not death. I believe that when two people get married, they are making a life-long commitment to each other. Marriage shouldn't be considered a short-term commitment. If a marriage ends due to one partner's stupidity in one way or another, they probably shouldn't have gotten married in the first place.

Third, partners who plan on marriage must be as compatible as possible. If they don't see eye to eye on many issues, it could produce problems between them. This is a problem in many marriages because many times partners believe that over time, they will agree on certain issues. But that usually isn't the case and causes separation between them.

Marriage today isn't taken as seriously as it should be. It is such a huge commitment that it should be given much thought. Several important issues must be considered. First, are you totally in love with your partner? Second, are you ready to make a life-long commitment? Third, how compatible are you and your partner? If the answer to any of these questions is negative, I don't believe marriage is advisable.
